Yana Skorobogatov is Assistant Professor of Russian and Soviet History at Williams College. She received her PhD in History at the University of California, Berkeley, her MA in History at the University of Texas, Austin, and her BA in History at the University of California, Berkeley. Her current book manuscript is a history of the death penalty in the postwar Soviet Union. She spends her free time committing to writing assignments she shouldn’t commit to, hanging out with her tuxedo cat Kedi, and finding ways to be near bodies of water. She was born in Moscow, USSR and currently lives in Somerville, MA.
